A recent report from the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute released the results of various studies that focused on texting and dialing while driving. The results show that the risk of an accident for distracted drivers as compared to non-distracted drivers increases by:

• 5.9 times for truck drivers who are dialing their phones
• 23.2 times for truckers who are text messaging
