Waco bicyclist severely injured in accident

A 20-year-old Waco bicyclist sustained severe injuries after he struck the side of a motor vehicle on Sunday night.

The collision took place around 9:00 p.m. near West Waco Drive and Valley Mills Drive. The young man was heading north when he rode through a red light and struck a westbound motor vehicle. The bicyclist was the only person injured in the crash.

The man was taken to a local hospital and immediately admitted into the emergency room. He has since been released. The investigation into the accident is still ongoing.

Waco woman arrested for intoxication assault after crash

A Waco woman was arrested arrested for intoxication assault on Tuesday after being involved in accident that left one person injured.

A 34-year-old woman was driving near 17th and Clay Street when she was driving a Ford truck and she collided with another car.

A person in the other car was injured and the woman got out of her truck and walked away from the accident. The injured woman was taken to the hospital in order to be treated and the hit-and-run driver was later found at her home. A $10,000 bond was set for the woman.

Sugar Land man survives major 18-wheeler accident

A Sugar Land man is lucky to be alive after an 18-wheeler over turned on top of his car on the Dallas North Tollway earlier this month. Doctors told him he might not ever walk again, but two weeks after the accident he was able to walk out of the hospital.

The man says he remembers driving on the highway and seeing the 18-wheeler truck about to fall on top of him. According to police, the truck was speeding when the driver lost control.

Four good Samaritans, including a former nurse, who saw the accident came to his aid and saved his life and his ability to walk.

One sent to hospital after 2-car accident in Waco

One person was sent to the hospital after a two-car accident occurred in Waco on Thursday.

According to police officials, the accident occurred at the intersection of Dutton Avenue and South 18th Street when a driver failed to stop at a red light intersection and struck another car.

The driver of one of the vehicles was transported to the hospital to be treated, but the injuries were not said to be life threatening. Two people in the other vehicle were not injured.

Waco car accident injures 1

During heavy traffic in Waco on Monday, a motorcyclist was hit by a motor vehicle on Valley Mills Drive. The motorcyclist was attempting to merge onto the street when the upcoming Honda Civic collided with him.

The accident caused the motorcyclist to become stuck underneath the hood of the motor vehicle. When police and paramedics arrived on the scene they were able to extract him from underneath the car. The motorcyclist was transported to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries.

During the initial investigation of the accident, police shut down the southbound lanes of the road. No other injuries were reported. The investigation is still ongoing.

Tattoo Convention this weekend in Waco

Baylor’s 2012 baseball season kicks off Friday

School bus collides with car in east Waco

At the intersection of Orchard Lane and Loop 430, a school bus and a small car collided this past Friday afternoon in east Waco.

The bus was making a turn onto Loop 430 northbound when it collided with a small car.  The car drove away after the collision.  The bus driver and a female student were the only ones on the bus at the time and neither were injured.

The girl was picked up by her parents.  The incident is still under investigation.

Super Bowl 2012 this Sunday

18-wheeler hits car on Valley Mills Drive

At 2:15pm on Thursday, a car driving southbound on Valley Mills Drive was hit by an 18-wheeler truck and trapped the driver of the car.

A man driving his Dodge passenger car on Valley Mills Drive was hit by an 18-wheeler truck making a turn from Valley Mills onto Waco Drive.  The driver of the car became trapped and had to be removed from his vehicle with the jaws of life.   He was transported to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, and the passenger of the car and driver of the truck were left unharmed.
