One woman was injured after a reckless driving accident that occurred when police were involved in a high-speed chase that ended in a two-car crash.
The chase began as police attempted to pull over a man for reckless driving and the 37-year-old man then sped off down Interstate 680. Police officials sent out a message to all agents in the area to look for the car and officers spotted him going 100 mph down the highway a short time later.
Authorities began to chase after him but the man then exited the freeway and attempted to make a right turn off of the roadway when he slammed into an SUV. Both vehicles flipped over on the shoulder and the driver of the second vehicle was trapped inside her car.
The man got out of his car and tried to escape from police on foot but he was caught and taken into custody shortly after. The woman was transported to the hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
