TABC investigating bar’s role in drunk driving accident

An accident occurred recently in Brownsville that caused the death of a 20-year-old woman, and, now, the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission is investigating a local sports bar that may have played a role in the accident.

On Saturday morning, an 18-year-old woman was driving a Ford Focus that was occupied by the 20-year-old woman. The driver lost control of the Focus and crashed into a metal post. Both women were taken to the hospital, and the 20-year-old woman died shortly after.

Investigations into the accident found that both women had been drinking at a local sports bar prior to the incident, despite being underage. The TABC is still investigating the bar and may revoke its liquor license. The driver in the accident was charged with manslaughter.
