Sugar Land man survives major 18-wheeler accident

A Sugar Land man is lucky to be alive after an 18-wheeler over turned on top of his car on the Dallas North Tollway earlier this month. Doctors told him he might not ever walk again, but two weeks after the accident he was able to walk out of the hospital.

The man says he remembers driving on the highway and seeing the 18-wheeler truck about to fall on top of him. According to police, the truck was speeding when the driver lost control.

Four good Samaritans, including a former nurse, who saw the accident came to his aid and saved his life and his ability to walk.

18-wheeler hits car on Valley Mills Drive

At 2:15pm on Thursday, a car driving southbound on Valley Mills Drive was hit by an 18-wheeler truck and trapped the driver of the car.

A man driving his Dodge passenger car on Valley Mills Drive was hit by an 18-wheeler truck making a turn from Valley Mills onto Waco Drive.  The driver of the car became trapped and had to be removed from his vehicle with the jaws of life.   He was transported to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, and the passenger of the car and driver of the truck were left unharmed.

Woman injured in collission with truck near Lake Shore Drive

An accident occurred early this morning near the intersection of North 19th Street and Lake Shore Drive in Waco that resulted in the injuries of a woman.

According to reports, the woman was traveling westbound in her vehicle at 8 a.m. when she lost control of it, ran into a pole, and then collided with a tractor-trailer truck that was traveling southbound. Firefighter who arrived on the scene of the accident had to cut the woman out of her vehicle. She was then taken to the hospital to be treated for a possible broken leg.

A baby was also in the car with the woman at the time of the accident, however, the baby was not injured during the crash.

Two Prisoners Die in Accident with 18-Wheeler

An accident with an 18-wheeler occurred this morning in Mississippi and left two prisoners dead.

The prisoners were being taken to a facility in Texas in a small vehicle, when the vehicle was hit by an 18-wheeler on Mississippi’s Interstate highway 10. The two prisoners died almost immediately at the scene of the accident. Three other passengers were injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. No other details have been announced yet, as the Mississippi Highway Patrol is still looking into the cause of the crash.

Man arrested after truck rollover accident

A man was sent to Rice Memorial Hospital after a semi-truck accident occurred last week on State Highway 40.

According to the state patrol, the 33-year-old driver was traveling in the semi-truck down the roadway when it ran off the side of the road for unknown reasons.

The semi-truck was hauling beets at the time of the accident. The man was wearing his seat belt and was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

One woman killed, three injured in crash near Waco

A woman from Lufkin was killed an three others were injured in a car accident outside of Waco, in Falls County.

The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 77 as it intersects with Farm-to-Market Road 935. A 20-year-old woman was the passenger in Chevy Impala driven by a 20-year-old man.

According to police, the man man allegedly failed to yield to the right of way and collided with a semi-truck. The truck driver was carrying a truck load of turkeys to Waco when the accident occurred.

The 20-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the 20-year-old man suffered a broken collar bone and is listed in stable condition. The driver of the truck suffered cuts and minor lacerations in the accident and was also transported to the hospital.

Man rescues toddler from semi-truck accident

A man who drove up to an accident right after it occurred rescued a three-year-old child that was in the back of one of the vehicles involved in the crash.

The accident occurred as a Ford Mustang was exiting Interstate 20 and failed to yield to a semi-truck and the two vehicles collided. There were two women in the front seats of the Mustang and one was killed in the accident while the other was seriously injured. The witness then ran to the vehicle and got a knife to cut into the top of the vehicle and pulled out the toddler.

Other bystanders helped to hold the roof of the car up as the man pulled the child  out. While rescuing the toddler, the car caught fire and the rescuers continued to save the child.

A Texas woman is filing a lawsuit against a truck company after their employee was driving a truck and collided with her vehicle after failing to yield.

The accident occurred in Nacodoches when the tractor-truck driver turned in front of her vehicle causing the two cars to collide.

The man is charged with failing to yield to the right of way, failing to apply the brakes, failing to keep a proper lookout. The woman is seeking damages for physical pain, medical expenses, mental anguish, physical impairment and loss of earning capacity.

One person killed in 18-wheeler accident

An 18-wheeler accident in Knox County left one person dead. The accident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Highway 277 when the victim’s pickup truck collided with an 18-wheeler.

The 85-year-old driver of the pickup truck was driving his vehicle northbound in the southbound lane when the driver of the 18-wheeler saw the man and switched lanes to try and avoid a collision.

The 85-year-old man then switched lanes and collided nearly head-on with the 18-wheeler. The crash is currently being investigated by law enforcement officials.

Truck accident on I-35 closes lanes

The northbound lanes of I-35 were closed after a fatal truck accident occurred on August 4.

The accident happened after a truck carrying compressed gas cylinders swerved off of the roadway slamming into a tractor- trailer that was parked on the shoulder. The driver of the tractor-trailer was thrown into a ditch and his feet were pinned by the wheels of the trailer.

This driver was transported to hospital by helicopter with serious injuries. The driver of the other truck was killed instantly in the accident and pronounced dead by emergency officials. Rescue crews worked in the area for over two hours.
